Building the Artificial Intelligence skills ecosystem: ARISA Alliance from vision to collective action
Building a strong ecosystem to support the uptake of Artificial Intelligence skills in Europe is essential to ensure individuals, businesses, and public institutions can fully harness the opportunities offered by artificial intelligence while remaining competitive and inclusive in the digital era. As AI continues to reshape labour markets and innovation landscapes, Europe must foster collaboration among education providers, industry, policymakers, and civil society to close the existing skills gap and promote lifelong learning. This objective is at the heart of several EU initiatives, including the Digital Europe Programme, which invests in advanced digital skills development; the European Year of Skills; and the Pact for Skills, which mobilises stakeholders to upskill and reskill the workforce in key sectors. The Artificial Intelligence Skills Alliance (ARISA) builds on these efforts, acting as a catalyst for cooperation and knowledge exchange to strengthen Europe’s capacity to develop, attract, and retain AI talent across all levels of society.
