CEN Workshop: AI Role Profiles and Educational Profiles (Kick-off meeting)

ARISA is joining forces with the European Committee for Standardisation (CEN), to help everyone — from employers to universities — speak the same language when it comes to AI jobs and training.
What is a CEN Workshop Agreement?
A CEN Workshop Agreement (CWA) is a type of document developed by experts and stakeholders who come together to agree on practical, useful solutions for a specific topic — like skills for AI professionals.
CWAs are faster and more flexible than official European standards. They are meant to respond to urgent or emerging needs in the market.
About the CEN Workshop ‘A.I. Role Profiles and Educational Profiles’
The proposed CWA will present a set of role profiles and educational profiles in the area of Artificial Intelligence. This CWA will include educational profiles with learning outcomes at different levels, directly linked to a set of AI professional role profiles that outline the necessary competencies as demanded by the market. These role profiles will contribute to a shared reference language for developing, planning, and managing AI professional needs, thereby supporting the maturity of the AI profession overall.
The CWA will build on existing CEN reports, specifically the European e-Competence Framework (“e-CF”; EN 16234-1), the ICT Professional Role Profiles (CWA 16458), and the Guidelines for Developing ICT Professional Curricula (TS 17699).
The kick-off meeting for the Workshop will be a hybrid meeting and is planned to take place at the Gospodarska zbornica Slovenije (Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia) as well as remotely via Microsoft Teams on 23rd May 2025 from 11.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. (CEST).
To register to attend in person, please contact the Workshop Secretary José Antonio Jiménez Caballero (UNE) (jjimenez@une.org).
