Application of micro-credentials into the ARISA certification system

The document outlines a certification method for ARISA Learning Programmes, based on the Recommendation of 16 June 2022 on a European Approach to micro-credentials for life-long learning and employability. While many EU countries are developing their education and training systems to enhance micro-credentials in various learning environments, there is not yet a unified certification system for ARISA Learning Programmes due to the early stage of these initiatives. Instead, a common micro-credential methodology is suggested for testing in ARISA certificates.

Micro-credentials represent a very effective instrument to support the ARISA modular approach and have the potential to foster continuous learning, to fill the AI knowledge and skills gap, to increase the efficiency of higher education and training systems, to encourage innovation and to reach a diverse group of learners.
